About 39K

Hi There,

I am Peter Murray,

I am an electronics engineer with more than 25 years of experience. I also do software development.

39K comes from the resistor colour code, Orange White Orange, which describes my face between the sides of my beard 🙂

My experiences include:

  • Custom control system design
  • Hardware
    • PCB layout and optimisation for specific manufacturing processes
      • Through hole, surface mount, and mixed
      • Shape, size, and layer constraints
      • I have done a little ceramic hybrid design previously
    • CANBus, RS485, and RS232 communications
    • some small experience with Ethernet (and associated magnetics) and USB interfacing.
    • Microcontrollers
      • Microchip (PIC16,18)
      • Atmel (AVR and Arduino)
      • Rabbit Semiconductors (3000 and 4000 series)
    • Microprocessors
      • Z80, 8080
      • 6502
      • 68000
      • ARM (Various versions)
  • Software
    • Assembly
      • x86
      • 6502
      • Z80, 8080
      • MIPS (R2000/3000)
    • C
    • Pascal / Delphi
    • Arduino
    • Java
    • Python
    • Briefly programmed in C++, C#, and JavaScript

I am constantly expanding my repertoire as and when needed.

I usually have a project of 2 (more like several) on the go at a time, I try my best to document them on my website but sometimes you get too excited with your progress you steam ahead to see what you can come up with next.

I have a YouTube channel ( 39K ) which has a few of my electronics videos as well as other subjects. I’ve not produced any content for a while, I will eventually start recording again.
